REST IN DOUALA

Today I hope to be able to buy a ticket for the ferry, Pier will accompany me, he knows exactly where the office is located. He works to the end so I wait for him to tell me when he can go. In the morning I go with Pier’s wife to the fish market in Douala, the largest in Central Africa. A large number of fish of all sizes, I am amazed at how much fish is caught every day. People are mostly kind, but often hostile when asked to take a picture. The afternoon is spent relaxing outside the garden preparing for tonight’s party to celebrate New Year’s Eve. I am very tired, I didn’t sleep much at night and I can’t do it even in the afternoon. I sleep on a mattress resting on the floor in the living room and the continuous passage of children does not allow me to rest. In the evening, the whole family goes to mass, I am too tired and I take advantage of it, since everyone has gone away to rest a little. I have already had the good fortune to experience hospitality on this trip, and on this occasion, as in the others, I felt at home, welcomed like one of them.
